How To Choose The Right Detailer

Tips For Choosing the Right Car Detailer

Tip #1 – Do they have Positive Consumer Reviews?

This one should be obvious, right? You want to work with a detailed service with amazing reviews. While the number of reviews will indicate a lot of experience, with professional detailing, the quality will trump volume.

When you start your Google search for car detailing, and you find the top 5 in your area, look for businesses that have positive consumer reviews. You want to find a detailing service that has reviews that talk about the actual experience that they had and highlight some key areas. Professionalism, Communication, Education/Knowledge.

If you can find a service with all those items mentioned in the reviews, there is a good chance that you will have a similar experience.

Now, here is the cherry on the sundae. If they have a lot of reviews that are similar to the positive ones, that’s an indicator that you can trust them with your precious vehicle. Auto detail shops spend years mastering their craft for you to get the best possible results.

Tip #2 – How well do they Communicate?

Do they reply quickly? It can be frustrating when you are trying to book an appointment and takes several days to get this accomplished. A good detailer will respond back within 48 hours. Knowing that you can effectively communicate with your dealer is important. With that knowledge, it makes it easier to get updates on your vehicle and ensure that they are communicating every step with you.

Anytime you’re spending money on a professional service, you should expect white-glove professionalism and communication throughout the process.

Tip #3-Run a checkup on the services provided

You should inquire about the depth of the detailer’s services before hiring them. Many of the top auto detailers in your area will be able to create a package to fit your individual vehicle, your wants, and your budget. But if you do not inquire about this choice, you may be startled by certain things you do not need. Or by having to pay more for some services that you do not want.

Auto wax, sealants, and other temporary paint protectors are the most time-consuming part of car detailing. You’ll find this out as soon as you start breaking down the prices. By eliminating these compounds through paint correction, your detailing expenditures might soon rise. To make cleaning your car more convenient, increase the shine or matte finish of your vehicle. To protect the paint for years, consider applying a professional nano-ceramic coating. Make sure to check whether the detailer provides such professional services.

Tip #4- Ask Questions

  1. How long have you been in business?
  2. Can you show photographs of vehicles from some of your recent past work?
  3. Do you have testimonials that can attest to their skills?
  4. Are you familiar with my type of vehicle?
  5. Do you have options in the finish of interior surfaces? This also applies to tire dressing (Matte finish vs. Satin finish vs. Gloss finish)
  6. What detailing products do you use (known brand names are preferable).
  7. How long have you been in business?
  8. What are the difference between their services and their competitors?

Remember

There is an art to detailing a car or truck. A bad detail can do more harm than good to your vehicle if you’re not careful. Delivering a clear car is what you expect after your vehicle has been detailed. Offering it using a professional touch and great customer care is exactly what will make you truly happy with your experience. So, there are a lot of things to think about beyond the quality of the detailer’s work.

To Conclude:

  • Get informed about different professional detailers. There are a lot of professional detailers that just learn the basics and the lingo of things that should and should not be done to your vehicle, but really do not have a clue.
  • Find a detailer with a proven track record. Professional detailers should have been in (full-time) business for at least one year. You should obtain references from three recent clients and check them. If they are unwilling to provide any – stay clear. A true professional has excellent references and is more than willing to provide them upon request.
  • Professionalism is important. This means that they do not show up to the job site late, do not complete the car late, leave the heater on, leave their music system on, and don’t dress inappropriately for the job. When you trust the second-largest investment you possess with a stranger, all of us do expect a particular level of professionalism and trust.
  • Is the detailer well organized?
  • Make a decision! It’s not time to make an intelligent decision based on your knowledge. Remember, basing your decision on pricing alone is not enough. In general, pricing reflects the quality of work.
